Blessed Carlo Acutis will be canonized on Sunday, April 27, 2025 (Divine Mercy Sunday), in St. Peter’s Square in Rome. He is the first Millennial to be made a saint.
He was a British-born Italian teenager known for his devotion to the Eucharist, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Rosary which became a core theme of his life prior to his death from Leukemia at the age of 15 in 2006. In 2013, a cause for his canonization was opened. He was beatified by Pope Francis on October 10, 2020.
